To Open a Standalone Revit File for Editing

  1. Do one of the following:

    In ProjectWise Explorer, select a Revit document and select Document > Open. The document is checked out and it opens in a session of integrated Revit.

    or

    In Revit, from the Application menu, select Open. Log in to ProjectWise if prompted. When the Open Document dialog opens, select the Revit document to edit and click Open. The document is checked out and opened.

  2. Edit the file as usual.
  3. When you are finished editing, close the file, or exit Revit.
  4. When the Check In dialog opens, click Check In.
